Shape and length change the mould, the card, the size map and the photo. Pretty almond is not a specification. Write the shape family and the length band in the brief so two manufacturers are quoting the same object. I coordinate those samples in China. I do not sell a single shape library as the TRESTRONG collection.
Length
Use short, medium, long or XL as a starting band, then attach a millimetre or a reference photo. Do not mix bands inside one SKU without saying so.
Shape, sizing and packaging move together
A 30-nail card built for square short will mis-teach an almond medium customer. Lock shape, length and sizing system before print.
Quick comparison
| Shape family | Typical note | What to send |
|---|---|---|
| Square / squoval | Retail and short daily wear | Photo and corner preference |
| Almond | DTC default in many lines | Photo and belly curve |
| Coffin / ballerina | Longer fashion sets | Photo and tip width |
| Stiletto | High-art or handmade more often | Photo and whether a machine stand-in works |
| Other | Often handmade or custom | Treat as custom until sampled |
Frequently asked questions
Can I launch five shapes in the first test?
You can. Expect five sample tracks or a messy comparison. Most first tests use one or two families.
Do handmade and machine-made share shapes?
Sometimes the names match and the curve does not. Sample both if the brand will sell both.
